The Need for Social Change

As our world has undergone rapid economic and technological development, social problems continue to be widespread - and to the detriment of all, not just a limited few.

At it's very core, I believe these issues can be traced to the declining morals and values within our society today and until this is remedied, they will persist.

Despite Mr. Cameron's promises to mend this 'broken' society is this something which can ever really be done with a top-down approach? Lasting social change can only be effective if it comes from within the society itself - from the bottom-up - and thus this becomes the responsibility of each and every one of us.

The 'Need for Social Change' has never been greater than at the present moment in time. Until values such as honesty, cooperation, tolerance, sacrifice, integrity and respect return to society, governmental intervention will have minimal impact.

This blog is therefore a 'call to action' for all of us. Until we can integrate and imbibe these values within ourselves, what hope is there for wider societal change?
